Stockbridge and Circus Lane
Stockbridge
A visit to Stockbridge is always a lovely addition to our private Edinburgh tours. As we drive through this charming neighbourhood, you’ll get a real sense of its village atmosphere — elegant Georgian crescents, artisan shops and the peaceful flow of the Water of Leith winding between the streets.
Stockbridge is full of local character, from independent cafés to speciality food stores, and on certain days you’ll even see the bustle of its much-loved market. Whether we’re passing through on our way to Dean Village or taking a short stop for photos, Stockbridge offers a warm, authentic glimpse into everyday life in Edinburgh, shared with you by your own private local guide.
Circus Lane
Circus Lane is one of those picture-perfect Edinburgh spots that guests instantly fall in love with. On our private tour, we take a short drive into the heart of Stockbridge and stop here so you can enjoy one of the city’s most photographed streets. With its cobbled lane, ivy-covered mews houses and the tower of St Stephen’s Church rising behind, it’s a beautiful place for photos and a true hidden gem.
We’ll step out for a moment so you can take it all in, and I’ll share a little of the local history that gives this lane its unique charm. Circus Lane is a small stop, but one that offers a real glimpse into the quieter, more romantic side of Edinburgh — a lovely highlight on any day out with Highland Private Tours.
