Speyside
Speyside, Scotland’s Whisky Region
Speyside is one of Scotland’s most celebrated regions, world-famous for its single malt whisky and beautiful river valley landscapes. Centred around the River Spey in northeast Scotland, the area is home to the highest concentration of distilleries in the country, including many of the most recognisable names in Scotch whisky. Rolling hills, farmland and wooded glens give Speyside a softer, more pastoral feel compared to the rugged west coast.
The region is ideal for distillery visits, tastings and learning about traditional whisky-making, but it also offers charming villages, riverside walks and a relaxed Highland atmosphere. Often explored alongside Inverness and the central Highlands, Speyside adds a rich cultural and flavour-led dimension to any Highland journey, appealing to both whisky enthusiasts and those simply looking to experience an iconic part of Scotland.
