Braemar Highland Games (Braemar Gathering)
The Braemar Gathering is the most prestigious Highland Games in the world, attended annually by members of the British Royal Family, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and now King Charles III. Held in the beautiful village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms, the Games combine pageantry, history and world-class athletic competitions in an unforgettable setting.
The event includes heavyweight athletics, Highland dancing, piping, tug of war and the famous hill race up Morrone. The sound of pipes echoing across the mountains and the crowds cheering beneath the Royal Pavilion create a uniquely Scottish atmosphere. It is the only Highland Games with an unbroken royal connection spanning over 150 years.
On your Highland Private Tour, the Braemar Gathering offers a spectacular grand finale to the Highland Games season — a day rich in culture, history and Highland pride, set against some of Scotland’s most dramatic scenery.
