Five days of culture, landscape, and rare access

Day 1: Connecting with the Highlands

Your journey begins with a private arrival and unhurried transfer into the Scottish countryside. The first day is intentionally gentle, allowing time to disconnect and settle into your surroundings. In the afternoon, you enjoy a guided introduction to Scotland’s landscape, history, and culture, setting the context for the days ahead. This is followed by a relaxed evening with local produce, storytelling, and a quiet sense of anticipation for the experiences to come. The emphasis is on comfort, conversation, and pace.

Day 2: Whisky, rarity, and the collector’s world

The day centres around a private, behind-the-scenes experience with Joe Wilson, Head Curator and Spirits Specialist at Whisky Auctioneer. During an intimate session, you explore the hidden world of rare and collectible whisky. Joe shares how exceptional bottles are authenticated, valued, and curated, and what truly makes a whisky historically and financially significant. You’ll gain insight into provenance, storytelling, and the fine details that separate everyday bottles from those that become icons. Rather than a standard tasting, this is a deep dive into whisky as heritage, craftsmanship, and cultural artefact. The afternoon remains relaxed, with time to reflect or enjoy a quiet dram in a private setting.

Day 3: River, land and Highland skills

The morning begins on the river, where you are welcomed by a local ghillie for a private fishing experience. Over several hours, you learn traditional casting techniques, river craft, and the rhythms of the water. Midday brings a wild outdoor picnic in a carefully chosen natural location, with locally sourced food prepared simply. In the afternoon, the journey continues with a Land Rover off-road expedition led by an experienced guide, travelling beyond public roads into rugged terrain and learning how land, weather, and history shape life in the Highlands.

Day 4: Language, chocolate and craft

The morning opens with a private, informal Gaelic session exploring local dialect, pronunciation, and expressions. Later, you are welcomed for a private chocolate tasting with Iain Burnett, the Highland Chocolatier, exploring flavour, texture, and craft. The afternoon is deliberately left open for rest or optional exploration.

Day 5: History, heritage and farewell

The final day centres on a private two-hour guided experience hosted by Lord Bruce, offering a personal exploration of place, lineage, and Scottish history shaped by lived experience. Following this, there is time for a final relaxed lunch and an unhurried return.
