Originally from Tasmania. Australia, one of the world’s most remote islands, Peter has called Scotland home since 2016, after a trip revealed the country’s charms he couldn’t resist. With Scottish roots and a lifelong fascination with history and travel, he has spent the past decade exploring Scotland in depth, with a particular fondness for the Inverness area and the country’s ancient heritage, from Picts to castles.
Trained as a chef in Australia, Peter followed his passion for travel and history to become a professional tour guide in Scotland. He spent seven years with a leading Scottish travel company, developing extensive knowledge of Scotland’s history, culture, and music. Known for his warm, engaging approach and light-hearted storytelling, he now brings that same expertise and humour to Highland Private Tours, crafting experiences that are both informative and memorable.
Outside guiding, Peter enjoys photographing Scotland’s landscapes with camera and drone, being a devoted cat dad, or planning adventures with his Scottish wife. Based in Edinburgh, he loves sharing the stories, beauty, and best local spots of his adopted homeland with every guest.
