Lead Tour Guide
Rowan may be the elder of the Mackie brothers, but Andy always likes to remind him that he’s not the big one, because the younger of the two siblings is a lot taller! What he lacks in height, he more than makes up for in personality, however, and you won’t find a friendlier or more welcoming guide this side of Hadrian’s Wall.
After a successful career in sales and marketing in London and New York, Rowan traded the bustling city life for the breathtaking history and stunning landscapes of Florence, joining his brother’s thriving cycling tour business.
Now, Rowan pursues his passion for all things Scottish by uncovering his homeland’s hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path treasures, curating unforgettable local experiences for his guests.
Rowan is also a true foodie and he delights in ensuring his guests experience the very best of Scottish cuisine – “barry scran” in the local dialect – during their adventures in Edinburgh and the Highlands. So while you’re on tour, be sure to tap into Rowan’s extensive knowledge and ask for his top restaurant recommendations – your taste buds will thank you!
